This allows prospective buyers to explore available property listings while remaining visually within your website.

Before You Begin: What Is an IDX Iframe?

An IDX iframe is a piece of code provided by an MLS or IDX service that allows its property-search page to appear inside another website.

Instead of sending buyers to a completely separate website, a compatible iframe displays the provider's property-search experience within your Agent Website.

For example, a visitor could open your website, select Search Properties, and begin browsing listings through your connected IDX provider.

What You'll Need

Before getting started, make sure you have:

• An active MLS or IDX service that provides property search.

• Permission to display the provider's property-search content on your website.

• The iframe embed code supplied by your MLS, brokerage, or IDX provider.

Important: Not every MLS or IDX provider supports iframe embedding. Your provider must offer a compatible iframe for this option to work.

You do not need to provide AGENTVIEW with your MLS username or password.

Step 1: Open Your Agent Website Builder

1. Log in to your AGENTVIEW account.

2. From the navigation menu, select My Agent Website.

3. Open the Agent Website Builder.

4. Select the Property Search tab.

This is where you manage the property-search experience available through your Agent Website.

If you're using the Basic Agent Website, AGENTVIEW provides options for connecting an existing property-search service.

Step 2: Select the MLS / IDX Iframe Option

Within the Property Search section, locate the dropdown menu for selecting your property-search method.

Choose MLS / IDX Iframe.

This option is designed for agents whose MLS, brokerage, or IDX company provides an embeddable property-search tool.

Once selected, you'll be able to enter the iframe information supplied by your provider.

Step 3: Get Your Iframe Code

You'll need to obtain your iframe code from your MLS or IDX provider.

Depending on the provider, you may find this information in its website tools, IDX settings, or member dashboard.

If you're not sure where to look, contact your provider and ask:

"Do you provide an IDX property-search iframe that I can embed on my real estate website?"

Your provider should be able to confirm whether iframe embedding is supported and explain how to obtain the necessary code.

What Does an Iframe Look Like?

Iframe code commonly begins with an opening <iframe> tag and ends with a closing </iframe> tag.

For example:

This is only an example. Use the actual iframe code supplied by your provider, not the example above.

Step 4: Add Your IDX Iframe

Once you have your iframe information:

1. Return to the Property Search tab in AGENTVIEW.

2. Make sure MLS / IDX Iframe is selected.

3. Copy the iframe code provided by your MLS or IDX service.

4. Paste it into the designated iframe field.

5. Save your Property Search settings.

Be sure to copy the information exactly as your provider supplied it.

Missing or altered parts of the code may prevent the property-search tool from displaying correctly.

Step 5: Preview Your Property Search

After saving your settings, you'll want to make sure everything is working properly.

1. Click Preview My Website.

2. Open the Search Properties section of your website.

3. Confirm that your provider's property-search tool appears.

4. Try searching for a property to verify that the search is functioning.

Check that:

• The property-search section loads correctly.

• Listings or search results appear as expected.

• Visitors can interact with the search tools.

• The search is easy to use on a mobile device.

What If Your Iframe Doesn't Work?

If your property-search page isn't displaying correctly, there are a few things to check.

3. Make Sure Your Service Is Active

Updating Your Iframe Later

Need to replace your property-search code or change IDX providers?

You can return to your Property Search settings whenever you need to make an update.

Simply:

1. Open My Agent Website.

2. Go to the Property Search tab.

3. Update the iframe information.

4. Save your changes.

5. Preview your website to make sure the new search works correctly.

You don't need to rebuild your Agent Website to update your existing property-search connection.
