Create and Manage Custom Contact Types
Organize your contacts your way with Custom Type Labels in AGENTVIEW. Learn how to create and manage contact categories for groups like Past Clients, Investors, Referral Partners, and more.
Every real estate business is a little different, and AGENTVIEW gives you the flexibility to organize your contacts in a way that works best for you.
With Custom Type Labels, you can create your own contact categories to help identify and manage the different relationships in your database.
For example, you might want separate contact types for Past Clients, Investors, Referral Partners, or VIP Clients.
Step 1: Open the Type Label Manager
From the left navigation menu, click Contacts.
Locate Create Type Label in the upper-right corner of the Contacts page.
Click it to open the Type Label window.
Here, you can create new contact types and manage the custom labels you've already added.
Step 2: Create Your Custom Label
In the Type Label window, enter a name for your new contact type.
Choose something that clearly describes the group, such as "Past Clients" or "Investors."
Click Create Label to save your new contact type.
That's it! Your new label is now available when creating or updating contacts in AGENTVIEW.
Step 3: Manage Your Existing Labels
As your business grows, you may want to adjust how your contacts are organized.
Open Create Type Label from the Contacts page.
Scroll to the bottom of the Type Label window to see your existing custom labels.
Review the labels you've created.
If you no longer need a label, use its remove option to delete it.
Keeping your labels organized makes it easier to find and manage different groups of contacts.
Making the Most of Custom Contact Types
Think about the different relationships you manage in your real estate business.
For example:
Past Clients: Buyers and sellers you've previously helped.
Investors: Contacts interested in purchasing investment properties.
Referral Partners: Professionals who regularly send business your way.
VIP Clients: Important clients you want to maintain closer relationships with.
Open House Leads: Potential buyers you've met through open house events.
Using consistent labels helps you quickly recognize each contact's relationship to your business and makes organizing your database much easier.
Quick Tip: Avoid creating multiple labels that mean the same thing. For example, instead of having both "Previous Buyers" and "Past Buyers," choose one naming convention and use it consistently.
