Custom Transaction Milestones
Overview
Custom Milestones allow you to fully control how your transactions are structured inside AGENTVIEW. Instead of being locked into a fixed checklist, you can design your Purchase, Sale, and Lease workflows to match the way you actually run your business.
Every agent works differently. Some prioritize inspections early. Others focus heavily on lender coordination. Some specialize in leases or investment properties. With Custom Milestones, AGENTVIEW adapts to your process — not the other way around.
When you create a new transaction, AGENTVIEW automatically builds its milestone list from your saved milestone templates. That means what you configure here becomes the blueprint for all future transactions of that type. Only active milestones are added, and they are inserted in the order you define.
Each transaction type is completely independent:
• Purchase has its own workflow
• Sale has its own workflow
• Lease has its own workflow
Editing one does not affect the others.
How to Add a Custom Milestone
To add a milestone to your workflow:
-
Select the correct transaction type tab (Purchase, Sale, or Lease).
-
Click the Create Custom Milestone button for that tab.
-
Complete the fields in the modal:
• Milestone Title – The name of the step (example: “Inspection Scheduled”)
• Internal Description – Visible only to you and your team
• Client Portal Description – Visible to your client inside the transaction -
Click Create Milestone.
The new milestone will appear at the bottom of your list. From there, you can drag it into position.
How to Reorder Milestones
Milestones can be reordered at any time.
-
Hover over the drag icon (grip lines).
-
Click and drag the milestone to the desired position.
-
Release the mouse.
AGENTVIEW automatically saves the new order.
The order you see here is the order that will be used when creating new transactions.
How to Enable or Disable a Milestone
Each milestone includes an Active toggle.
• If the toggle is ON → the milestone will be added to new transactions.
• If the toggle is OFF → the milestone will NOT be added to new transactions.
To disable a milestone:
-
Locate the milestone in the list.
-
Click the toggle switch to turn it off.
This does not delete the milestone. It simply prevents it from being added to future transactions. Existing transactions are not affected.
How Deleting Works
• Custom milestones can be deleted.
• Default milestones cannot be deleted.
• Default milestones can be reordered or deactivated.
Deleting a milestone removes it from your workflow template. It does not affect milestones that already exist inside previously created transactions.
How Milestones Are Used in Transactions
When you create a new transaction:
-
AGENTVIEW checks your milestone templates for that transaction type.
-
It selects only milestones marked Active.
-
It inserts them in the order you defined.
-
The transaction then operates independently from the template.
Changing your template later will not modify transactions that already exist. This protects the integrity of past deals.
Best Practices
Think strategically about your workflow.
• Use clear, action-based milestone titles.
• Use Internal Descriptions for reminders, deadlines, or team instructions.
• Use Client Portal Descriptions to improve communication and set expectations.
• Review your workflow quarterly to refine and optimize it.
• Avoid overloading your process with unnecessary steps — clarity beats complexity.
The most powerful use of Custom Milestones is consistency. When every transaction follows a structured process, your communication improves, your clients feel informed, and fewer steps fall through the cracks.
AGENTVIEW is designed to reflect how professionals actually operate. Custom Milestones are how you shape that system to fit your expertise.
