Import Your Contacts
Have contacts saved in a spreadsheet or another CRM? Learn how to import your existing database into AGENTVIEW using a CSV file, match your contact information, and get your leads and clients organized in one place.
Already have a list of leads, past clients, or business contacts you'd like to bring into AGENTVIEW?
The Import Contacts tool makes it easy to transfer your existing database without having to enter each contact individually.
You can upload a CSV file, review how your information matches AGENTVIEW's contact fields, and import your contacts in just a few steps.
Step 1: Prepare Your Contact List
Before getting started, make sure your contact list is saved as a CSV file (.csv).
A CSV file is a common spreadsheet format that you can create using Excel, Google Sheets, or export from another CRM.
Your spreadsheet should include column headings such as:
First Name
Last Name
Email Address
Mobile Number
Mailing Address
Contact Type or Status
Take a moment to review your list and remove any blank rows, duplicate entries, or outdated information.
Good to Know: AGENTVIEW currently supports CSV files for contact imports.
Step 2: Open Import Contacts
From the left navigation menu, click Contacts.
Locate the Import Contacts button at the top of the page.
Click it to open the Import Contacts workspace.
You'll see the steps that guide you through uploading and importing your contacts.
Step 3: Upload Your CSV File
In the Upload File section, click Browse.
Select the CSV file from your computer.
Once selected, AGENTVIEW will display your filename and prepare the contact information for review.
After your file is loaded, you'll move to the Review & Map section.
Step 4: Review and Match Your Contact Fields
This is an important step because it tells AGENTVIEW where to save the information from your spreadsheet.
AGENTVIEW automatically recognizes many common column names and matches them to the appropriate CRM fields.
For example:
First Name → Contact's first name
Last Name → Contact's last name
Email Address → Contact's email
Mobile Number → Contact's mobile phone
At the top of the mapping section, you'll see two helpful indicators:
Auto-matched: Fields AGENTVIEW has automatically matched for you.
Need Review: Fields that need your attention before importing.
Each column from your CSV file appears alongside the AGENTVIEW field it will be imported into.
If something doesn't look right, simply use the dropdown menu to choose the correct field.
Example: If your spreadsheet uses the heading "Cell Phone," you can select the appropriate mobile number field in AGENTVIEW.
Take a moment to review every mapping, even the ones automatically matched. This helps make sure your contacts' information ends up in the right place.
Step 5: Confirm Contact Permission
Before importing your contacts, AGENTVIEW asks you to confirm that you have permission to communicate with the people in your list.
This is especially important if you plan to use AGENTVIEW for email campaigns, text messaging, or other marketing communications.
Only confirm permission if your contacts have given the appropriate consent for how you intend to communicate with them.
Remember to respect unsubscribe requests, text message opt-outs, and do-not-contact preferences.
Step 6: Complete Your Import
Once you've reviewed your contact information and confirmed the required permissions:
Continue to the Import stage.
Click Import Contacts to begin importing your database.
Once the import is complete, return to your Contacts page.
Your imported contacts will now be available in AGENTVIEW.
You can open individual profiles, review their information, add notes, update their contact status, and begin organizing your follow-up activities.
Helpful Tips for Importing Contacts
Start Small: If you're importing contacts for the first time, try a small test list before uploading your entire database.
Check Your Columns: Use clear headings so AGENTVIEW can recognize your information more easily.
Review Your Mappings: Make sure phone numbers, email addresses, names, and other details are assigned correctly.
Organize Your Contacts: Consider assigning contact types such as Buyers, Sellers, Past Clients, or Investors to help manage your database.
Import Contacts Responsibly: Only import contacts you have permission to communicate with, and honor their communication preferences.
Quick Tip: If you're moving from another CRM, exporting your contacts to a CSV file is one of the easiest ways to bring your existing relationships into AGENTVIEW without starting from scratch.
